Although this video does begin to get quite repetitive, I think it is a brilliant idea of “Coachella” to sell viewers the experience they can partake in. The video does not explicitly state what this festival is, but rather, allows the audience to take what they want from it. Clearly, what made this video so intriguing and unique was the use of a tilt-shift camera lens and some fancy aerial shots, but it worked. Looking at the feedback from YouTube users who claim they will definitely be attending next year, it can easily be seen that this viral video was a success.
I agree with Corin that this video was a success albeit a bit too long. It was interesting to see what goes into the set up of a large music festival and the planning and editing of the video was fabulous. I don't think I would ever go to a concert but it would be cool to see if the audience is bigger on next year's video.
Definitely made me wonder what the concert was all about and definitely made me want to partake in the festivities. Anyone else notice the blue stick figure at 2:53? I wonder if that's a mascot for the concert or something like that.
I was very entertained by this video even if it was a bit long and repetitive. The background music was catchy and the pyrotechnics was fun to watch. I'm easily amused but even so, I think others would agree. I guess that's why this has gone viral. :)
It does a great job of highlighting the spectacle of the event itself. The tilt-shift technique used with the sped up footage allow people to really appreciate the scale and excitement of everyone coming together and having a good time in the festival environment.
I knew nothing about coachella before seeing this video, but it made me want to be a part of it. The video makes it seem like an amazing event to be a part of and everyone seems to be enjoying a day long of fun. I definitely have to learn more about this event and see who attends this event.
